Sanibel Island 2011
We visited Sanibel for a mini getaway in July 2011.
Sanibel Island is one of my favourite places in Florida. It definitely rates a ten on the Lonestar Scale.
The beaches are fabulous.
and the shelling is phenomenal.
Bending down to pick up shells is called
the Sanibel Stoop.
We swam and played in the Gulf of Mexico.

This pleated wood pecker I caught just outside our beach cabin door.
We stayed at the Beach View Cottages becuase they are pet friendly and right on the beach.
Wwe enjoyed the stay. The cottage was nice, no 5 star accommodations but suited what we needed.
The best part of all was the sunset every night.
