Pelicans Diving

I was watching these brown pelicans fishing near Sarasota Florida.  They would circle 20 or 30 feet above the water and then dive bomb into the water.

When they hit the water they open their pouch and snag as many fish as possible, like a casting net. 

The gular pouch can hold as much as 2 or 2.5 gallons of water.

This gull is looking to steal any stray fish.
