This odd looking fellow is a bird of prey.

He feeds on small carrion and small animals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He is a resident of central Florida, the Texas coast and Southeast Arizona

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Caracara often walks on the ground in search of prey.

Here he found a turtle but could do nothing wit it so he left.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They are considered  threatened as a species.
